JOY AND QUINTON- July 13,2019
Joy & Quinton
Joy & Quinton
“Always only gonna be only you”
Joy and Quinton had the most amazing Saskatchewan wedding. With acres of fields all around us, the ceremony was situated in a pasture overlooking a small creek. Family and friends gathered from far and wide to celebrate and support these two in their nuptials.
I was honored to be asked to photograph such a quaint, meaningful ceremony.
Quinton was waiting at the alter while his bride to be pulled in on a one horse carriage. Oh, be still my heart! I was at a fairy tale wedding!
The farming lifestyle was in both Joy and Quinton’s background and I loved how they pulled parts of this into their day. Simple, sophisticated and rural.
And I loved capturing every minute of it!
And to top off the end of the day, a few formal photos with Joy’s “kids”!
“As I lay here thinking I need a helping hand
One who will be with me and truly understand
To love me for me and always let me know
One to be with me and together we will grow
To understand I’m a country girl in oh so many ways
And want to live a simple life the rest of my days
To feel the warmth in his heart and together make a home
Side by side we walk the streams and together pastures roam
As I sit here thinking I need a helping hand
One that will choose me and truly understand
To want me for me and always let me know
One to stand with me wherever we will go
To understand I’m a country boy through and through
Together live a simple life doing things we do
To know her touch as we walk hand in hand
Knowing I have the one I want and together walk the land”

Waskesiu Wedding - ROBERTA AND ENOCH, SEPT 2019
Enoch and Roberta
“Love is the bridge between you and everything.”
This Autumn wedding was set in the town and nearby area of Waskesiu. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to shoot in such a beautiful setting! I mean, everywhere you go there is beauty. Enoch and Roberta chose a Thursday afternoon to host friends and family to witness their marriage, which made the entire day perfect. The resort town was quiet with very little traffic that day and I felt like we could take over the streets (Which we did!)
Roberta did a fabulous job of picking shades of blush, rose gold and tans to pair with the navy suits the men wore. She has an amazing sense of style and good taste. I was more than happy to capture the dream she had envisioned for their wedding day. Such great attention to detail was made on their part knew I must make the absolute best memories for them to treasure for a lifetime together! No stone was left un-turned so to say.
I arrived at the venue early to scout locations as well as capture details for the reception. And I was in there like a dirty shirt so to speak. My habit of being an early bird always pays off! The reception venue was stunning, just bursting at the seams with florals, trinkets and treats! And I was able to capture so many details that Roberta put together with so much love.
The ceremony was held at the Elk Ridge Church. It was a bit rainy in the days before the wedding so we didn’t spend too much time shooting in that area because the mud was a little deep!
So the town of Waskesiu had to do. LOL. But that moisture from the rain just drew out the colours of the trees and details of the rocks and lake.
We had the most fun and fabulous time shooting. And Enoch and Roberta were up to any of my suggestions!
I had such a wonderful day with the two of you. Thank you for allowing me to capture your most memorable moments together!

SARAH AND CAILEAN, SEPT 2019
Sarah and Cailean chose the University of Saskatchewan for their engagement photos as well as their wedding photos. This was a special spot for the two of them as this is where they first met!
This couldn’t have been a more perfect wedding day. Sarah got ready in her parent’s home not far from the ceremony site. She, her parents and bridesmaids walked the city to the Park where the ceremony was held. It was so fun to have neighbors wave and cheer at us as we walked by!
The sun filtered over the ceremony site through fall leaves in shades of green, red and orange created a quaint setting. Close friends and family waited in scattered chairs on the green grass as two guitarists played “Here Comes The Sun” by the Beatles on acoustically. That made my heart burst! Such a sweet touch to the day while Cailean waited at the alter for his sweet bride.
Sarah and Cailean met at the University of Sasksatchewan and that is where we took most of their formal photos as well as their engagement photos. I can never get enough of the diversity of places to shoot at the U of S!
It was a perfect Autumn day with clear weather. And we had so much fun! These two were up to any of my ideas for photos. A coffee run was a fun little diversion from the “regular” photos. And of course a few “selfies” were taken. Who could resist?
Congratulations Caliean and Sarah! Thank you for such a fun, memorable day!
